Sony Ctenzin is a self taught designer. She began her career by running a boutique for 10 years. Her love for yarns, colours, and textiles was cultivated alongside the comforting sound of her mother’s loom. She passionately fell in love with fashion and trends and liked to cut, sew and play with textiles as a child. She founded FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) to address the gap in training in the sector and with the objective that unemployed youth could have a place to learn and start a career. Presently, she has found her true calling after being in this industry for almost 15 years, which is designing textiles and working closely with highlanders of Bhutan.
